YLAI alumna launching new venture in Lima

Written By Dana Vidal & Drew Precious
February 5, 2019

Dana Vidal is working at the intersection of fashion and sustainability, all while supporting Peruvian artisans in the process.

A Presidential Precinct and Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) alumna, Dana is an entrepreneur and founder of Lima-based Remodela Fashion Lab, a clothing & fashion services brand focused on sustainable fashion. During her YLAI Fellowship at the Presidential Precinct – one she describes as “an experience with immeasurable value that gave me more confidence and audacity for my entrepreneurial path” – Dana re-assessed and built her updated business vision into a concept of a fashion co-working space.

In the last months, Dana has undertaken market research, investor mapping, and business partner search in order to take this entrepreneurial idea to completion. With a new business partner on board, efforts are undergoing to raise the last portion of capital for Remodela Fashion Lab coworking space, which will allow them to have sufficient capital for its first year of operations.

As Remodela Fashion Lab plans to open its fashion coworking space in March 2019, they have opened a crowdsourcing call for support (First Peruvian Fashion Coworking). Dana’s venture will be the first fashion co-working space in Peru. This entrepreneurial effort will promote sustainable fashion, generate opportunities for fashion designers to create in a conducive and collaborative work space, and promote the use of Peruvian textile heritage.
