The 2018 Global Leadership Forum brought 21 emerging leaders from more than 16 countries together to discuss and identify solutions for Advancing Women’s Economic Empowerment. Participants were all deeply committed to promoting women’s entrepreneurship, access to financial services, vocational training and career education, empowering and inclusive workplaces, and gender equality. The four day program moved between the Grounds of the University of Virginia and nearby Morven Farm.
The annual Global Leadership Forum is a premier, multi-regional gathering of young professionals. Each year brings a new program topic, spanning across a week of plenary sessions, small group discussions, breakout workshops, and site visits to community organizations. Since its launch in 2015, the Global Leadership Forum has convened emerging leaders from 63 countries in every region of the world.
"The Power of Partnerships for Advancing Women’s Economic Empowerment” conference is part of the Presidential Precinct’s 2018 Global Leadership Forum. Distinguished speakers will include President of the University of Virginia James E. Ryan; Manisha Singh, Assistant Secretary of State for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs; and Rick Goings, Executive Chairman of Tupperware Brands Corporation.
At the University of Virginia’s iconic Rotunda, start your morning by networking with top executives and young leaders from around the world and delve into the key questions this conference will explore: What are the main challenges and opportunities facing women as they seek to contribute to and benefit from economic activity and growth? How are governments, corporations, and nonprofits working together to increase women’s participation in the economic arena? What can young people do to empower women around the world?
Register to AttendTupperware’s sponsorship of the Global Leadership Forum reflects their longstanding commitment of igniting global communities, especially women, to realize their best selves. As a pillar in the company’s purpose for 70 years, the Global Leadership Forum is among other select programs and women’s initiatives that the company supports, including the Global Links program. Since 2012 this cross-cultural exchange program has been empowering women through education and opportunity by engaging high achieving female business and economics professors in developing and post-conflict countries. Co-founded by Tupperware Brands and Rollins College, with the support of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, Global Links has provided free social entrepreneurship training to more than 4,000 university students, faculty and staff who have mentored more than 150 female entrepreneurs in Iraq and India.
