Now in their fifth week at the Presidential Precinct, 25 participants in the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship will soon have a unique opportunity to network with high level business and government executives in Washington D.C. at the 2016 Africa Business Forum.

In partnership, the U.S.-Africa Business Center at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and The Presidential Precinct are hosting this week’s Forum to convene global business executives, government officials, academic leaders and Mandela Washington Fellows from 17 African countries to discuss today’s business environment in Africa and opportunities for spurring economic growth, good governance and private sector investment. The format of the Forum is designed to encourage informal dialogue and interactions among participants. The program will include moderated panel discussions, lightning roundtables, and an informal networking lunch.

“The U.S.-Africa Business Center at the US Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring the future of African leaders together with the best and brightest of American entrepreneurialism,” said Business Center President Scott Eisner – “all with a goal to create the next era U.S.-Africa economic growth.”

The U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-Africa Business Center (USAfBC) is leading the American business community in a new period of unprecedented engagement with Africa’s regional economic communities, the established African private sector, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Since 2009, the Chamber has made great strides bridging the gap between U.S. business and Africa. The Center was established to advance policies that attract greater investment in Africa and to support trade throughout the continent.

Nancy Hopkins, Presidential Precinct Director of Programs, said, “by bringing together global business executives and this group of dynamic young African civic leaders, we hope to stimulate creative thinking about how to increase trade and investment across Africa for broad-based social and economic development.”

Participating organizations in the 2016 Africa Business Forum include Acorus Capital, Universal Leaf, AECOM, P&G, Airborne Lifeline, GE, DuPont, IBM, Microsoft, Morgan Lewis, and the American Chemical Society.

Limited registration spots for the Forum are available here:
