Yannick Ndayisaba

Yannick Ndayisaba holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Burundi and is a journalist and blogger who strives to challenge the status quo, using a pen to put his thought-provoking ideas at the service of his country. Yannick currently works at Jimbere Magazine, a media platform that explores intriguing social issues that Burundian youth and women face. Furthermore, since 2016, Yannick has been a contributor to Yaga Burundi, a group of young Burundian bloggers that echo the voices of hundreds of young people from different backgrounds. Before this, Yannick spent three years working as an intern in the Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy Bujumbura and served as chairperson of the regional YALI East Africa Alumni Chapter of Burundi. Most recently, Yannick has been awarded the 2019 Michael Courtney Fellowship to pursue his master´s degree in International Peace Studies at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Yannick envisions furthering his career in peacebuilding.
