Mandela Washington Fellowship - Summer 2016

“As Young African Leaders, it is important that we focus on the complete picture of our society and appreciate the good so that we can fix the bad.”

Tobiloba Ajayi has over seven years’ experience in the development sector in Nigeria, primarily working with and for persons living with disabilities. She has also done a 20-month stint with the FoodBanking Network in the UK, helping to provide food for people in crisis. Currently, she is secretary to the board of directors and project-planning and implementation team of BENOLA Cerebral Palsy Initiative, a Nigerian non-profit working to change the face of cerebral palsy in Africa through advocacy, capacity building, referral services, and counseling. Tobiloba holds a first degree in Law and a master’s degree in International Law, and has authored three books. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she plans to continue her work in disability advocacy, focusing on helping disability care organizations optimize their services within the African context and with available funds.
