Mandela Washington Fellowship - Summer 2017

“I think it is time that young people in Africa begin to take interest in the affairs of their local governments.”

Tem Fuh Mbuh is the Equality, Justice and Human Rights Program Officer for the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA). He focuses on advocacy and grant making. Along with other organizations, he works to promote the rights of vulnerable groups by providing access to justice, citizenship, and information of public interest. He holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from the University of Buea, Cameroon, and a Master’s degree (LLM) in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa, from the Center for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa. Tem has extensive knowledge and experience in national and international human rights practice and prior to joining OSIWA, served for over four years at the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Tem is driven by the conviction that human wellbeing can only be secured in an environment where the rights of all persons are adequately respected and protected. He hopes to leverage knowledge and skills acquired during the Mandela Washington Fellowship to continue helping vulnerable groups to elevate their voices and organize to seek solutions to pressing human rights issues within their communities.
