Mandela Washington Fellowship - Summer 2016
“We need to come together to build Africa, and I see that starting with this group.”
Nana Adjoa is a passionate and dynamic young lady who can best be described as a voice for the voiceless in society. She has close to a decade’s experience in journalism. She is currently the news editor with Radio Maxx and a news correspondent for Joy FM Ghana. As a journalist and news editor, one of her core duties involves educating the public about events, and how certain issues affect their lives. She spends much of her time interviewing expert sources, searching for information, and sometimes visiting scenes where a crime or other newsworthy occurrence has taken place. After she has thoroughly researched the subject, she uses what she uncovers to create a piece for radio and the Internet. Nana holds a degree in Communication Studies. After the fellowship, she hopes to continue her work using in-depth documentaries to tell the stories of the marginalized in society.
