Mohamed Stéphane Gondo has more than five years of experience in the field of peace and human rights promotion and protection. Currently, Stéphane is a jurist and bailiff collaborator at Étude de Maître Kakadje Léopold, focusing on defense of litigants. He is an activist for peace and human rights. He serves as coordinator of the School of Peace for Sant’Egidio, an international non-governmental organization. He works in schools and universities to implement strategies to prevent, manage, and settle communities’ conflicts. With Amnesty International, Stéphane is working to protect human rights. He worked on Cosay, a social cohesion program in Abidjan led by the Ministry of Interior of Côte d’Ivoire and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency. Stéphane holds a master’s degree in Law and is finishing a second master’s degree in Peace Culture and Conflict Resolution at the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) Chair for the Culture of Peace. Stéphane is motivated to fight peacefully against extremism in religion and in communities. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Stéphane plans to increase his peace and human rights promotion and protection activities by creating several schools of peace within communities in Côte d’Ivoire.
