Lweendo Kambela is a peace and conflict expert. He is currently working as an intern at the Zambia Human Rights Commission (ZHRC). He is also a consultant working on issues of conflict, refugees, human rights including sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), peacebuilding, post-conflict rehabilitation, mediation support initiatives and electoral processes. Lweendo has more than four years of experience in conducting research and training with both local and international organizations and has published a Policy & Practice Brief (PPB) on the local integration of refugees in Zambia. He holds a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Copperbelt University, Zambia, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Conflict Prevention Operations, Crisis Management and Post-Conflict Reconstruction from the University Center for Peace Mission – Helsinki Espana, Spain. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he aspires to become an influential civic leader.
