“I have a real burden to see the youth get more involved in ... civic service.”

Jean Marc Mbafor grew up in Yaounde and earned a Higher Diploma in Business Administration from Thames Business School in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2009. During his years in Nigeria, Jean Marc gained professional experience as personal assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of Mobiduff Nigeria Ltd. While living in an English-speaking country, he took advantage of his francophone background to start a small enterprise offering French translation services and language teaching to local companies and organizations. After returning to Cameroon, he started a company where he is now the General Manager. In 2009 he created the Mustard Seed association, aimed at helping Cameroonian youth, and Cameroonians as a whole, understand and play their role in the development of Cameroon. In 2013 he also founded the first volleyball club in his home region, allowing his region to participate for the first time in the national cup competition. With this background in entrepreneurship and social activism, in 2013 Jean Marc ran for president of the Cameroon National Youth Council and was elected to the highest office of youth leadership in Cameroon.
