Jamila Mohammed is a Judge of the Court of Appeal of Kenya with over 30 years of experience in law, human rights, and judicial reform. A key figure in strengthening the rule of law in Kenya and Africa, she has helped shape constitutional, administrative, and human rights jurisprudence. She played a pivotal role in Kenya’s constitutional transition as a Judge on the Interim Independent Constitutional Dispute Resolution Court. As Chair of Kenya’s National Committee on Genocide Prevention, she led national strategies on legal reform and atrocity prevention, contributing to a draft Genocide Prevention Bill. Regionally and globally, she has advanced the rule of law through roles with GAAMAC, the ICGLR, and the Auschwitz Institute. Her ongoing research and judicial leadership center on justice, gender, peace, and access to justice. Deeply committed to judicial independence, integrity, and wellness, she continues to promote ethical leadership and court efficiency.
