Aldovanda (Haldo) Djive is a young lesbian, bisexual, queer (LBQ) woman experienced in young women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRH-R), project management, and advocacy. She has over nine years of experience in program management and advocacy for LBQ women, displaced women, and those living with HIV. Haldo excels in feminist organizing, demonstrating commitment in programs such as “We Lead” (Hivos Foundation, Mozambique), “Love Alliance” (ARASA, Por Ela), and “Pitch” (Frontline Aids, Mozambique). Haldo has been involved in advocacy and community work for the LGBTQIA+ community, specifically focusing on the rights and welfare of LBQ women. Her commitment to this cause is reflected in her role as the national coordinator for an LBQ organization, where she champions the rights of LBQ women and advocates for their representation at all levels of society. In her work with POR ELA, Haldo plays a pivotal role in advocating for policy changes and legal reforms that directly impact LBQ women. As part of her advocacy efforts, she organizes and conducts advocacy and leadership training sessions, and ensures LBQ women’s representation in decision-making spaces. Through collaboration with allies and research, she amplifies the voice of LBQ women, striving for inclusive policies and social justice.
