GLF 2019 took place in Charlottesville, Virginia at the University of Virginia from October 14-17, with the theme of “Collaborative Solutions for Social Impact.” 24 emerging leaders from around the world and the United States convened to delve into the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a blueprint for global peace and prosperity, and examine cases of effective cross-sector partnerships (business, government, universities, nonprofits) that are advancing the SDGs. In addition, participants had the opportunity to strengthen their leadership capacities, engage with experts in the field, and build a global professional network of dynamic changemakers.
The annual Global Leadership Forum is a premier, multi-regional gathering of young professionals. Each year brings a new program topic, spanning across a week of plenary sessions, small group discussions, breakout workshops, and site visits to community organizations. Since its launch in 2015, the Global Leadership Forum has convened emerging leaders from 63 countries in every region of the world.

Tupperware’s sponsorship of the Global Leadership Forum reflects their longstanding commitment of igniting global communities, especially women, to realize their best selves. The company’s support of events like the Global Leadership Forum reflect Tupperware’s commitment to the pillars of women’s empowerment, disaster relief and environmental stewardship. The company’s support of Global Links, a cross-cultural exchange program, also serves as an example of a commitment to social impact. Since 2012, Global Links has been empowering women through education and opportunity by engaging high achieving female business and economics professors in developing and post-conflict countries. Co-founded by Tupperware Brands and Rollins College, with the support of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, Global Links has provided free social entrepreneurship training to more than 4,000 university students, faculty and staff who have mentored more than 150 female entrepreneurs in Iraq, India, and now Brazil.
