Mandela Washington Fellowship - Summer 2017

“I am passionate about my family about being a model muslim in the face of the very negative view about Islam.”

Ahmed Adetola-Kazeem has over seven years of experience in the legal profession, specifically focusing on human rights and the criminal justice sector. Ahmed is the Founder and Executive Director of Prisoners’ Rights Advocacy Initiative, where he focuses on advocating for the rights of prisoners and rehabilitating them. He is also the founder of Q-Madi Taekwondo Club, where underprivileged street children are transformed into responsible champions. Ahmed holds a bachelor’s degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Ahmed is driven by his commitment to impacting lives and inspiring people. He hopes to witness a criminal justice system that is just and effective and a prison system that is truly reformatory. In addition, he hopes to see a society where the underprivileged youth stay away from crimes and aspire for greatness through sports or other positive engagements. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Ahmed plans to continue his work in human rights with focus on advocacy for prisoners’ rights, rehabilitation of prisoners, and giving hope to the underprivileged in the society.
