Abdi Rahoy Kassim, HSC, has nine years’ experience in designing and delivering programs on peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and community security. Currently Rahoy is a facilitator corps with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development’s Conflict Early Warning Response Mechanism (IGAD) in Mandera, Kenya. Rahoy is also skilled in climate change, participatory learning and action, and participatory monitoring and evaluation. In 2012, the Kenyan government recognized his peacebuilding efforts and he was awarded a national honor, a ‘Head of State Commendation’ HSC, by His Excellency, President and Commander in Chief of the Defense Forces of the Republic of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki. Rahoy is doing an MA in Governance and Ethics at Mount Kenya University, Kenya, and holds a BA in Development Studies from Busoga University, Uganda. After completing the Fellowship, Rahoy will continue advocating for youth against violent extremism and radicalization, and will continue sharing verified ‘conflict early warning’ indicators for early response.
