Kalkidan Geda has over five years of experience in human rights advocacy and civic leadership. Currently, Kalkidan is a National Human Rights Officer at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, where she monitors and advocates for human rights in conflict-affected areas. She also plays a key role in the early warning system to prevent human rights violations and contributes to the transitional justice process in Ethiopia. Previously, Kalkidan served as an Election Monitoring Coordinator at the Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations for Election, organizing training programs for over 2,000 election observers. Kalkidan holds an LLB in Law and Governance Studies. Committed to promoting justice and equality in Ethiopia, she plans to continue her work in empowering marginalized groups and advocating for human rights after the Fellowship.
