You’ll find, at the foundation of the Presidential Precinct’s mission, a leadership process that is realized in each of our programs for the benefit of every participant:
While each step of the process is important, there are two specifically that we like to emphasize.
First, we identify the world’s most promising individuals who have a demonstrated capacity to lead and a passion to address pressing challenges in their country. On the day when young leaders arrive here at the birthplace of modern democracy, they are already heroes in their own respect. The new perspectives, skills, networks, and visibility that leaders gain through our programs build on a pre-existing foundation – exponentially multiplying a leader’s global impact on development challenges.
Then, when leaders return to their home countries, we could not be more proud to offer opportunities for lifelong collaboration within our network of alumni. And as we turn the corner into a new year, this lifelong offering is strengthened like never before.
In recent months, we have overhauled the interface of the Presidential Precinct Network (PPN) – working to ensure seamless accessibility and integration with the latest communication technologies. This means opportunities for live Q&A events between Precinct staff and alumni, a cohesive platform for sharing content around the Precinct’s six core focus areas, and a far improved user interface – online and via mobile app – that keeps program cohorts united beyond their time at the Precinct.
The Presidential Precinct Network is by no means a nascent concept. Originally launched in 2014, the PPN has proven itself one connection or resource at a time. With great thanks to our partners, we reflect back on building in-country collaborations with program alumni and the launch of online course opportunities for our growing network of changemakers.
Access to the network is currently available to alumni of programs that the Presidential Precinct hosts, and for those members, we have a dynamic, member-driven schedule of programming prepared in the upcoming calendar year. We eagerly await the stories of impact that are only just beginning.

The re-launched PPN coincides with a promising growth year for Presidential Precinct programs. Our forecast is bold, and while flagship initiatives remain, we continue to expand our scope of program and corporate partnerships towards a vision of thriving, just, and free societies in every region of the world.
Our fellowships, exchanges, and forums hosted here in Virginia endure in fostering life-changing, shared experiences for emerging leaders year after year. Now more than ever, we can confidently say that those experiences do not have to end as leaders depart from Williamsburg or Charlottesville.
