(CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA) – Three new standout leaders joined the Presidential Precinct in the final months of 2018, launching the Charlottesville-based nonprofit into a new year shaping up to be its most vibrant yet.
New to the Presidential Precinct’s Board of Directors is Rick Goings (top, right), Executive Chairman of Tupperware Brands Corporation, one of Fortune magazine’s “World’s Most Admired Corporations”. Rick has had a remarkable career that has included work with the World Economic Forum, The United Nation’s Women Advisory Council, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and current service on the boards of the Global Peter Drucker Forum and Rollins College. Rick’s lifetime of international business experience brings to the Board a wealth of knowledge that is perfectly suited to the Precinct’s mission.
The Presidential Precinct is thrilled to welcome Katherine Griffin Hand (top, middle) as the Precinct’s new Director of Development. Katie comes from the Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem Foundation in Washington, D.C., where she served as Executive Director. She is now a resident of Orange County where she also serves as a volunteer for the Orange County Habitat for Humanity, The Boys and Girls Club Board, and as a volunteer at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.
Ambassador Stephen D. Mull (top, left) is the new Vice Provost for Global Affairs at the University of Virginia; where he succeeds Jeff Legro, one of the Presidential Precinct’s founding board members. Steve brings to the Precinct Board the experience of a long and distinguished career at the U.S. Department of State, where he was most recently the Acting Under Secretary for Political Affairs. Earlier Steve served as the lead coordinator for the Iran Nuclear Implementation. Prior to that he served as U.S. Ambassador to both the Republic of Poland and to the Republic of Lithuania; and he has been a Resident Senior Fellow at Georgetown University’s Institute for the Study of Diplomacy. Ambassador Mull is the recipient of the Secretary of State’s Distinguished Service Award and over a dozen other Senior Foreign Service Awards. The Precinct Board could not hope to have a more distinguished and knowledgeable diplomat.
