Luyando Haangala-Wood has been working in the Zambian media industry for the past nine years. She is currently an independent media consultant, which allows her time to work for youth within the Zambian community. She has worked at Muvi TV, the largest independent television station in Zambia, as a presenter/producer where she created chidren’s shows, fashion and music shows, and a presenter search program that gave young people the opportunity to showcase their talents on live television. She has hosted numerous television shows on Zambia’s major stations. She is a sought after Master of Ceremonies for major corporate and entertainment events and she recently became a local government-certified Master of Ceremonies. This gave her the role of Master of Ceremonies at the 2013 UNWTO Vice President’s State Dinner with the Vice Presidents of both Zambia and Zimbabwe present. Guests included Foreign Ministers and Heads of Delegation from the attending UNWTO countries. Luyando holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a minor in Business from Helderburg College, Capetown, South Africa. She also has a Certificate in Diplomatic Practice, Protocol and Public Relations from the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy, Lusaka, Zambia.
